Jacksonville Jaguars to play in Orlando

Jacksonville Jaguars Could Play 2027 Home Games in Orlando

As the Jaguars prepare for a major makeover of EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, the so-called “Stadium of the Future” renovation valued at approximately $1.4 billion, plans are underway for the team’s 2027 home season to be pitched somewhere other than their usual home. One of the leading candidates to host the team temporarily is Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, which is making a competitive bid backed by an incentive package and favorable infrastructure. According to multiple reports, the Jaguars have submitted their evaluation of potential sites, including Orlando and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, and a final decision still awaits approval by the league and its owners.

From the Jaguars’ perspective, the temporary relocation is a pragmatic step. The renovation timeline for EverBank Stadium includes major construction in 2027, making it difficult to host a full regular-season slate in Jacksonville that year. For Orlando, the opportunity to host an NFL franchise—even for one season—represents a significant economic boost; Orange County authorities have approved funding incentives of around $10–11 million to lure the Jaguars and upgrade the venue as needed.

Still, several moving parts remain. The NFL requires 75% of team owners to approve any such relocation of home games, and that vote has been postponed. The logistics of moving a team for a season—from staff housing, fan travel, and local partnerships to stadium capacity and market fit—are substantial. For Jacksonville fans, one season away means an adjustment, but the payoff is a renovated state-of-the-art home starting in 2028. If Orlando hosts the Jaguars in 2027, it could mark a unique chapter in the franchise’s history and another signal of how fluid professional sports operations can become in a large-scale infrastructure era.
